Featured Blog Post: How to Kill Public Service
It was a very exciting month of January for organizations in the Electoral Systems and Reform sector. There was a lot of legislation advanced as members worked with newly seated legislatures to promote accountability and make our electoral systems more democratic. Additionally, several organizations announced internal efforts to help advance their missions.
Among the legislative victories:
- Activists of Represent New Jersey helped advance a NJ Campaign Refinance Bill
- Young Invincibles advocated for H.R. 1, the For the People Act
- Three members of Reformers Caucus (Issue One) introduced the Political Accountability and Transparency Act
Among the internal efforts:
- The Center for Election Science debuted its new website
- Inspire U.S. published New Year’s Resolutions
- MAP announced that former Representative Carlos Curbelo joined its Advisory Board
So much was accomplished last month -- it really is impressive. And I’m sure I didn’t touch on all of the accomplishments of the electoral sector from January. With that in mind, if you are in the electoral sector or are familiar with members in the electoral / campaigns sector and see that I missed something, please email Jeremy Garson at [email protected], and he’ll be sure to add it to the Outline for Healthy Self Governance.
