Shhh...Did you hear that?
That’s the sound of hundreds of conversations happening nationwide as part of the National Week of Conversation! Celebrating its second year, the National Week of Conversation is a project of the National Conversation Project, which encourages “people of all stripes [to] intentionally convene with the goal of mending our frayed social fabric and revitalizing America together.” You can hear more about it from NCP’s Executive Director Pearce Godwin in this MSNBC segment.
Over 200 organizations across the country are participating in this year’s National Week of Conversation, including fourteen (14!) Bridge Alliance members: Listen First Project, Common Ground Committee, ProCon.org, Living Room Conversations, AllSides, Big Tent Nation, Essential Partners, Issue One, Mediators Foundation, National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation, National Institute for Civil Discourse, America Indivisible, Convergence, and Take Back Our Republic. Phew! If you’d like to join in, just sign up for one (or more!) of the conversations in your area.
Before you go, though, be sure to check out our new member and read what Cities of Service, the Center for the Study of Liberty, and the Center for Election Science are up to:
- We are excited to welcome the Renew Democracy Initiative (RDI) to the family! Led by former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, RDI seeks to promote healthy discussion and preserve our democracy for future generations.
- Cities of Service is releasing case studies on its Engaged Cities Award winners and finalists. So far it has published seven of ten case studies.
- The Center for the Study of Liberty is hosting an online reading group. The first book on the menu is Confident Pluralism: Surviving and Thriving through Deep Difference by John Inazu, which they will read over the course of 4 one-hour virtual sessions starting April 23 at 7pm ET. If you’d like to join in, be sure to register by April 15.
- The Center for Election Science is hiring a Director of Campaigns and Advocacy
As always, thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Kelly Murphy (Democracy Revitalization Intern)
