As a Michigan alum, there are few things I like more than beating Ohio State and Michigan State. It doesn’t matter whether it’s football or donating blood, I want my school to win. I know many Big Ten students and alumni feel the same way, which is why it gives me great pleasure to announce the First Ever Big Ten Voting Challenge (check out their awesome announcement video here). The challenge is a competition between all 14 Big Ten schools to see who can register and turn out the most student voters. Titles will be given to the schools with the “Greatest Overall Turnout” and the “Greatest Increase in Voting Rates.
I have already signed up for the challenge and apparently the Wolverines are winning! Are you a Hawkeye, Nittany Lion, or Hoosier that wants to do something about that? Then sign up. It only takes a couple minutes if you’re already registered to vote. And if you’re not registered….what are you waiting for!? Get signed up!
In entirely separate news, the Bridge Alliance just hired a brand new intern! Shakira “Shay” Mills is a recent Virginia Wesleyan graduate, where she majored in Communications, Political Science, and Women/Gender Studies. The Bridge Alliance team is so excited to have Shay on board and we know that she will do an excellent job of serving the Bridge Alliance’s member organizations.
As always, thank you for your support,
Sincerely,
Jeremy Garson
