Research and Data Management Intern

 The Bridge Alliance is a coalition of ~100 organizations working individually and together to achieve healthy self-governance in our nation.       The Bridge Alliance itself is committed to promoting the work of its members and encouraging collaboration among members to reach our   collective goal of galvanizing 12 million citizens to become active participants in the movement by 2024.

 We are looking for an undergraduate or master’s level intern who can assist with the development of our data analysis and research arm of our   work. The intern will have the opportunity to join our weekly team calls and contribute substantively to the field’s body of knowledge as well as   learn about how an ambitious non-profit organization operates and develops over time.

 The person who fills the role of Research and Data Management Intern will assist with and perform data analysis tasks across multiple   projects to support the Bridge Alliance and the members of the alliance. The Bridge Alliance plays an important role in the democracy   ecosystem, leveraging research, innovation, and partnerships to transform the movement.

 The Research and Data Management Intern will primarily engage in:

  • Maintaining and building unbiased political research library for the movement
  • Effectively maintaining data electronic storage in a secure infrastructure
  • Data cleaning to support desired metrics and reports
  • Researching and recommending methodologies for reporting data and statistics, including KPIs
  • Applying statistical and predictive analytics and visualization to present data trends
  • Identifying data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies by analyzing the content, structure, and relationships within data
  • Communicating analytical insights to audiences with various analytical backgrounds using different but suitable communication methods for different audiences.

Qualifications

  • Currently a bachelor’s or master’s student majoring in social or political science with a strong basis in qualitative methods, data analytics, or related majors. Applied experience in qualitative analysis software (RStudio/Posit, MSPower BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in managing data related tasks
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Ability to collaborate across many levels within a team, organization and with members and strategic partners

Please note that the Bridge Alliance is a fully distributed team and interested candidates must have personal access to a laptop or computer and a reliable internet connection.

This is an unpaid internship. The Bridge Alliance will cooperate with your academic institution to secure school credits for the work you complete. A personal letter of recommendation or a being recommended to an organization within our network is also available upon performance. We anticipate this internship to begin in mid-January 2023 and conclude in May 2023 at the close of the academic semester.
